This iconic Woolworths line has been around for a long time. It went through a renovation a couple of years ago which we did with RCL, the suppliers to Woolworths. Melsetter Foods has been producing this well-loved marinade in the years since the renovation.
A South African family favourite for generations. We developed this version for Excellent Meats and Cavalier Foods who supply this line to Woolworths. For this line we focussed on traditional flavour profiles with the addition of a dried apricot crumb to provide acidity and balance to the rich lamb fat.
This line was developed alongside Ducko for Woolworths. With a prominent paprika profile, it works incredibly well with the rich duck breast and fat.
Chermoula and lamb are a match made in heaven. Developed for Excellent Meats and Cavalier foods, this spicy, acidic, North African marinade, or condiment, cuts the richness and stands up to the robust lamb flavour.
Developed for Lynca Meats in conjunction with Woolworths, this very rich and spicy Prego marinade stands up effortlessly to the richness of the pork steak.

A retail line developed specifically for Woolworths. This stock is produced from free range chicken carcasses, fresh vegetables, and herbs. A delicious base for many dishes and soups.
An extension to the Woolworths chicken stock. It’s made using free range beef marrow bones, fresh vegetables, and herbs. Our beef stock is a robust, meaty and ideal for rich stews, casseroles, pot roasts and soups.
Another iconic and well-loved Woolworths line. This rich, flavour packed baked chicken dish is a real crowd pleaser. It has been so popular that it is now also retailed with a pork steak. This topping was originally developed for RCL but we now also produce it for Enterprise Meats.
This dish was developed for the Woolworths Poultry Department as a retail line. It is a firm favourite with children and makes an ideal lunch box item. As seen in the image, baked in a sauce, topped with cheese, and served with pasta it is also a great family, comfort food favourite.
Add cheese and coat with crumb and you have a hands down winner. These frikkadels are delicious with fries and a salad or just as a snack with a mayo-based dip. Developed for the Woolworths Poultry department as a retail line.
Pan-fried, grilled or braaied, these are a great alternative to traditional beef burgers. Originally developed as a plain burger for the Woolworths Poultry Department, two flavoured options were added to the range after years of continued popularity. These additional flavours are are sundried tomato, basil and mozzarella as well as spinach and feta. Complete with your preferred topping and voila!
Working with incredible oil from Westfalia Fruit, we were determined to make a vegan spread that is not simply hydrogenated like a margarine. The result has surprised even us. This vegan spread is a brilliant butter replacement that behaves just like butter in an astonishing range of applications. Use it as a base for sandwiches or even bake with it.

The fatty creaminess of avocado pear and coconut make for a breathtaking ice cream base. The success of this development has spurred us on to begin developing some flavour alternatives as well as sugar free variants.
We developed this line as a Christmas Roast for Woolworths. The turkey breast is vacuum tumbled in butter brine to ensure moistness and stuffed with a chicken, ciabatta crumb and cranberry stuffing. It is sold with a separate pouch of cranberry and apple glaze to be applied during the cooking process. This line is fast becoming the preferred Christmas Roast for many South African families.
With access to Free Range egg from one of our sister companies and all the necessary equipment, a collaboration with Westfalia Fruit to produce a range of mayo for them was the obvious next step. This delicious mayo brings several health benefits to the table and a variety of options are manufactured. (Plant based, 52% oil for S.A., 70% oil for U.S. and Europe as well as a reduced oil option).
